Digital divide: The Internet make a hierarchy

“The fundamental digital divide is not measured by the number of connections to the Internet, but by the consequences of both connection and lack of connection” (Castells, The Internet Galaxy, 2001).


After this lecture, learned that not many countries have internet for citizens,

which causes hierarchy between the well-developed countries and the undeveloped countries. People with a healthy digital internet can get more information and education, but the citizens in poor countries are the opposite.
